If you are 18 or over and you have still not had your vaccine, you can have this done at Ivry Street Medical Practice. Please call 01473 254718 to make an appointment.

If you are aged 50 and over or fall in the at risk group for a flu vaccination, we will be holding an "Open Flu Clinic" at Barrack Lane Medical Centre on Saturday 23 October between 8am to 4pm. There is no need to book an appointment, but we ask where possible to please attend on your own and remember to wear a face covering.

Named GP

All patients registered at Barrack Lane Medical Centre hold a practice wide registration. This means you can elect to be seen at either Barrack Lane or Stoke Park site. Every patient is allocated a named GP, but this does not prevent you from seeing the clinician of your choice if they have availability. If you would like more details please contact us or ask at reception.

Keep or Cancel

Patients who do not attend for their appointments cost the National Health Service many millions of pounds each year.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

By giving us as much notice as you can you are helping us to make sure that someone else is given your slot.

Out of Hours

For urgent advice after the surgery has closed, during the night and at weekends dial 111 for the Out of Hours Service for Suffolk. Calls to this service are free of charge from both landlines and mobiles.

Test Results

Specimens need to be dropped in at the reception desk by 12 noon so that we can send the samples off to the laboratories.  Please ring for results after 2.30pm when the surgery is less busy.

Extended Hours

The practice offers clinics on Saturday mornings. This is to support patients who have difficulty coming during the day, such as night workers or those who are commuting daily.

To aide with this we also offer some early morning telephone appointments.

GP + Service

At peak times you may be offered an appointment with the GP+ service based at Riverside Clinic in Ipswich. This service is available to registered patients in the evening and at weekends and is an extension of the usual service provided to you by Barrack Lane Medical Centre.

We will arrange for you to be seen by a clinician who has access, with your, consent, to your medical records and who will keep your usual GP fully informed of any diagnosis and treatment provided. The Riverside Clinic is located at 2 Landseer Road, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP3 0AZ.

Please note: the Riverside Clinic is NOT a walk-in Centre and GP+ appointments can only be arranged via the practice or the 111 (Out of Hours) service
